AquaReale has been building and servicing ponds in southeastern Pennsylvania since 2000. We design and install new koi ponds, disappearing waterfalls, and fountains, and we take care of the ponds that are already in the ground, including the ones other companies built. Here is what that actually looks like.
Pond Building and Koi Pond Installation
We build ecosystem ponds that run clear on their own. Every pond gets a skimmer, a biological waterfall filter, enough depth for koi to overwinter safely in this climate, and the rock and gravel that give beneficial bacteria somewhere to live. Most residential ponds are finished in five to seven days. Larger estate ponds take two to four weeks.

Disappearing Waterfalls and Fountains
If you want moving water without an open pond, a disappearing waterfall sends the water into a hidden underground reservoir and pumps it back to the top. There is no standing water, which matters for front yards and for families with small children. Fountains do the same job at a smaller scale and fit on a patio or in a courtyard.

Pond Cleaning and Spring Cleanouts
A full cleanout means draining the pond, moving your fish to a holding tank, power washing the rock and gravel, cleaning the skimmer and the biological filter, inspecting every piece of equipment, refilling, treating the water, and returning your fish. We do this every spring across the region, on ponds of every size and age.

Pond Service and Maintenance
We service ponds year round. Summer visits, algae treatment, leak detection, pump and filter work, fall netting and cleanout, and winterization before the first hard freeze. You can book a single visit when something goes wrong, or put the pond on an annual plan so nothing gets missed.

Pond Repair and Renovation
Leaks, failed pumps, liners past their useful life, waterfalls that stopped looking right. We repair and rebuild ponds other contractors built, and we renovate ponds we built twenty years ago. If it can be saved we will tell you. If it cannot, we will tell you that too.

Yes. Koi ponds are the core of what we build. We size the filtration to the fish load, build to a depth that lets koi overwinter safely through a Pennsylvania winter, and include fish caves and hiding structure so herons do not treat your pond as a buffet. We also rebuild ponds that were built too shallow or without enough filtration to hold fish.
Constantly. A large share of our maintenance work is on ponds built by other contractors or inherited from a previous homeowner. We assess what is there, tell you plainly what it needs, and put the work in writing before we start.
A spring cleanout runs $1,350-$2,000 depending on the size of the pond. Fall netting and winter prep runs $750-$1,300. Larger ponds sit at the top of those ranges. Full pricing is on our pricing page.
Ecosystem and koi ponds run $12,000-$30,000 for the sizes most homeowners build. Disappearing waterfalls run $7,500-$15,000 and fountains run $5,500-$10,000. We build from early spring through late fall and the calendar fills up. Fall is the last practical window to get a feature built before the ground freezes. Winter is when we book spring cleanouts and next season's installations. Read more about our fall pond services.
