    What Lake Management Actually Covers

    • Nutrient level management
    • Clarity improvement programs
    • Seasonal treatment schedules

    Aeration System Installation & Maintenance

    Lake Management Through the Year

    Spring

Once the ice is off we test the water, restart and inspect the aeration system, check diffusers and lines, and begin the first beneficial bacteria applications. We repair shoreline damage from the winter freeze and thaw cycle and get treatments in place before the first algae bloom rather than after it.

    Summer

This is the working season. We visit on a set schedule through the growing months, manage algae and nuisance aquatic plants, watch dissolved oxygen through heat waves, and service fountains and aerators so they keep running when the water needs them most.

    Fall

Fall decides what spring looks like. We manage the leaf and organic load before it settles into the bottom muck, clean up shorelines, apply the final nutrient treatments of the year, and repair erosion while the ground is still workable.

    Winter

Winter work is real work. We change aeration over so gas exchange continues safely under ice, pull and service floating equipment, and inspect banks and outfall structures. It is also the right time for HOA boards and property managers to review the year and budget for the next season.

Most properties we manage are on a monthly schedule from April through October with reduced winter visits. We build the calendar around your water body, not a template.

    Water Bodies We Manage

    Estate Lakes

Private lakes on residential estates. We maintain water clarity, manage aquatic plants, and keep your lake a stunning centerpiece of your property.

    Corporate & Commercial Ponds

Office parks, shopping centers, and business campuses. Professional appearance with environmentally responsible care.

    Retention & Detention Ponds

Stormwater management ponds that need to function properly AND look presentable. We handle both.

    HOA & Community Ponds

Shared community water features that residents enjoy. We work with HOA boards to maintain beauty and compliance.

    Why Lake Aeration?

Aeration adds valuable oxygen to a pond or lake, particularly on the pond's bottom where muck and organic debris accumulates. The movement of the surface of the water, combined with aeration from above and below the water's surface, is key to the overall ecosystem's survival.

    Bottom Aeration Systems

A properly sized aerator works from the bottom up to ensure all areas of the pond are circulated and saturated with dissolved oxygen, leaving you with a cleaner, clearer and healthier pond.

    Floating Fountains

Fountains are mostly viewed as an aesthetic addition to an otherwise quiet body of water but play a vital role in the overall health of your otherwise stagnant retention pond or lake.

    Beneficial Bacteria

Naturally occurring bacteria that consume excess nutrients and break down organic matter. They are the foundation of clear water.

    Native Plantings

Strategic aquatic and shoreline plants that absorb nutrients, filter water, and outcompete nuisance algae.

    Nutrient Management

Addressing the root causes of algae: excess nutrients from runoff, fertilizer, and organic debris.

    Shoreline Stabilization

Native plantings and natural materials that prevent erosion and protect water quality.

    Combined Aeration Solutions

Paired with a bottom aeration system, fountains can be an attractive way to solve your pond problems while keeping movement for visual pleasure. AquaReale installs and maintains Airmax floating fountains and aerators for all size natural ponds and lakes.

    Service Capacity

We manage water bodies from large backyard ponds up to 5 acres. For properties with multiple ponds or lakes, we develop comprehensive management plans that address each water body's unique needs.

    • Large residential ponds (1/4 - 1/2 acre)
    • Estate lakes (1/2 - 2 acres)
    • Community ponds (1 - 3 acres)
    • Commercial retention basins (up to 5 acres)

For water bodies larger than 5 acres, we can provide consultation and referrals to specialized lake management firms.

    Who We Work With

Most of our lake and retention pond work is for people who are responsible for water they did not build. Board members, property managers, groundskeepers, and estate owners who need the water to look right, function correctly, and stop generating complaints.

    Estate Owners

Private lake owners who want their water feature to remain a beautiful, healthy asset.

    HOA Boards & Property Managers

Community associations responsible for shared ponds and water features.

    Commercial Property Managers

Business parks, retail centers, and corporate campuses with decorative or functional ponds.

    Golf Courses

Course ponds that need to look great and function properly.

    Municipalities

Public retention ponds and stormwater facilities.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Chemical treatments provide quick but temporary results while harming the ecosystem. Natural methods take slightly longer but create lasting, healthy water that sustains itself. We've found our clients prefer sustainable solutions over repeated chemical applications.

Visit frequency depends on the water body size and needs. Most lakes require monthly visits during the growing season (April-October) with reduced visits in winter. We'll recommend a schedule based on your specific situation.

Yes. We've restored many neglected ponds and lakes. It may take a full season to see dramatic improvement, but natural methods can bring even troubled water bodies back to health.

Absolutely. We coordinate with your existing team and can provide reports and updates to whoever manages your property.

Our natural approach is completely fish-safe. In fact, it creates healthier conditions for fish than chemical treatments. We can also consult on fish stocking if you're interested in adding or improving fish populations.

Pricing depends on the size of the water body, its current condition, and how often we visit. After an on site assessment we put a detailed proposal in writing so you know exactly what the season costs before anything starts.

Yes. If you experience a sudden algae bloom, fish kill, or other urgent issue, contact us immediately. We prioritize existing clients for emergency response.
