Here is a question worth sitting with before the season really gets rolling: do you want to own a pond, or do you want to run one?
Those are two very different weekends.
A lot of folks picture pond ownership as morning coffee by the water, koi drifting under the lily pads, that easy sound of moving water in the background. Then reality shows up wearing rubber gloves. Skimmer baskets need emptying. Water needs testing. Pumps hiccup. Leaves pile up in fall and string algae shows up uninvited in spring. None of it is hard, exactly. It is just relentless.
That is the whole point of a maintenance agreement. It is not an add-on or an upsell. It is the thing that quietly keeps your pond healthy, your fish safe, and your Saturdays yours.
What you are actually paying for
Peace of mind, mostly. When you are on one of our maintenance packages, your pond gets seen on a schedule instead of whenever something goes wrong. We handle the seasonal opening and closing, keep the water balanced, watch the equipment, and catch the little problems while they are still little. A worn pump seal spotted in May is a cheap fix. The same seal discovered in August, after the water has gone green and a fish or two has paid the price, is a bad weekend and a bigger bill.
We also just... know your pond. After a few visits we know its quirks, its history, how it behaves in a heat wave. That kind of familiarity is hard to put a price on, and it is why so many of our clients stay with us for years.
"I have a mid-size koi pond (3,000 gallons) that I've maintained for years, but didn't have time to do the major clean-out and startup this spring. They did a phenomenal job, caring for my fish, cleaning the rocks and waterfall, and getting the pumps working right. They worked non-stop for almost 12 hours! My pond has never been clearer. I highly recommend them!"

Todd already knew how to care for his pond. He just ran out of time. That is who these agreements are really for: not people who cannot do the work, but people who would rather spend that time enjoying the results.
And if something does go sideways between visits, you are not starting over with a stranger. You call us, and we already have the full picture. That is worth a lot at 7pm on a Friday when the waterfall stops.
The honest math
A neglected pond gets expensive. Green water, stressed fish, a full clean-out to undo a season of drift. Regular care costs less than the rescue, and a lot less than replacing koi you have grown attached to. Steady beats heroic, every time.
Mostly, though, it comes down to this: you bought the pond for how it makes you feel, not for the chore list. Let us keep the chore list.
