Pond Builder & Water Feature Services in Media, PA

Media — the Delaware County seat — is famously walkable, historically preserved, and surrounded by a ring of leafy inner-Delaware-County townships (Nether Providence, Upper Providence, Rose Tree, and Middletown) that together form one of AquaReale's most consistent local markets. We have been designing and building water features throughout the Media area for more than two decades.

Media Borough itself sits on smaller in-town lots close to State Street and the trolley line. Here we most often install courtyard fountains, bubbling boulders, and compact disappearing waterfalls — features that add the sound of moving water to a rear garden or side yard without taking up entertaining or garden space. Because the reservoir on a disappearing waterfall is buried, there is no open water, no fish balance, and effectively no ongoing maintenance beyond an annual top-up and check.

Just outside the Borough — in Nether Providence, Rose Valley, and Middletown — properties open up to a half-acre or larger, and the go-to project becomes a real ecosystem koi pond with an integrated stream. Middletown and Upper Providence lots often carry a natural grade change we can design into the feature: a 25-to-40-foot fieldstone stream running from a hillside source into a 12-to-16-foot ecosystem pond with a bog filter, aquatic plantings, and LED lighting.

Winter here is USDA Zone 7a — modestly milder than Bucks or Montgomery — but every koi pond we build in Media still gets the same overwinter package: 24 to 36 inches of depth minimum, a floating de-icer or aerator through the coldest weeks, and a fall net across the pond mouth. Our Fall Prep visit handles the net, the equipment shutdown, and the feed transition.

For permits, most residential ponds in Media Borough and the surrounding townships are exempt, but larger builds or properties near Ridley Creek or Chester Creek may need Middletown or Nether Providence Township grading review. We handle it as part of design.
